Two

It was a cold room, cold always to the unconnected. A small blonde girl sat in the corner, like she had every day since she was eight, simply watching. Inside the room were hundreds of sheets of glass positioned erratically around the room, no order, they just stood there.

She heard a slight cracking noise and immediately rose; her eyes darting about the room, searching for the change. Here well trained eyes spotted the new development quickly and she dashed across the room to inspect the plane.

The glass she smoothed her hand over was already cracked down its right side almost three quarters of the way down. He doesn’t have much time left. she though sadly knowing she would have to report this soon to her husband the current leader of the Eng’hina. The magical descendants of Yunalesca Eng’hina and her other Zaon Vorloro.

Living in secret had become their only way of survival after the major damage they had inflicted on human history. The girl spun her head around and gasped as a fresh sheet broke through from the floor almost beneath her feet. She briefly glanced at the names before running from the room.

She flew down the stairs and almost fell through the door into a large office where a tall dark haired man sat working through some papers.

“Leon!” She gasped catching her breath.
“What is it Naminé?” He stood up quickly and hurried to her side. “a new activation?”
“Yes, and there was a further cracking on Riku Englen.”

Leon frowned slightly, “Who was the new activation?” He asked, dreading the reply.
“Roxas Shinan and-“
“Shinan? As in Demyx Shinan?”
“Yes”
“and..?”
“Zexion Morvan”

Leon froze in shock staring her in the eyes, “Are you sure?”
“Yes, they’ve activated together.” She held onto his hands, “What do we do?”
“There’s not much we can do at the moment, only pray that Axel does not intercept them before they get here.”

“Great just what we need!” Someone shouted. “An activation on the road, an especially with him! Could it be worse?”
“Yes it could be now keep your voice down!” Someone said menacingly back. The voices dropped to a low whisper as Roxas stirred, every bit more confused than he had been earlier.

“we need to get moving as soon as possible, if Axel finds us and sees them, god only knows what he will do.”
“I know…” Roxas recognised Riku’s voice speaking. “Try and wake Zexion up. We need to go.”

Roxas opened his eyes and sat up, his chest felt heavy and his head was pounding. He looked over to where Riku was quickly packing anything that had been removed during their night stay.
This isn’t good, he’s Axel’s brother and now he’s activated with Roxas.</b>

Roxas shock his head confused slightly. “Who is Axel? And what do you mean by activated?”
Riku looked around shocked. “What?”
“What do you mean by me being activated to this guys brother? Who are you talking about?”
“How do you know…?”
“You just said..?”

Riku stared at him, “You don’t know anything about us do you? Not a thing?”
“Tell me!”
Riku sighed. “We need to move on now. It’s not the time.”
“No! Tell me now!”

“Alright, you come from a long line of powerful mages, which started with a woman called Yunalesca Eng’hina.”
“The Eng’hina clan? We learnt about them in history. But they told us they were extinct after the witch trials, that was 300 years ago?”
“Yes, but they weren’t extinct, we went into hiding as the use of magic was slowly withdrawn from the world. Truthfully that’s all we know about our ancestors, but what we do know is that there was another line. An evil line which began at the same time, starting with a sorceress whose name was Morvesu. There was some form of battle between them, between Eng’hina and Vorloro, her lover, and Morvesu.”
“And what has this got to do with me?”
“it’s a centuries old battle to eliminate the other clan. They have been trying to exterminate us while we have tried to do the same. You are the last descendant of Eng’hina, while Axel, the man that attacked you in your school is the last descendant of Morvesu.”
“And his brother?”

“Riku we’re ready to go now” Riku and Roxas turned to look at the three men standing there watching them.
“Yes, where is Zexion?”
“I’m here.” His voice was different to yesterday Roxas noted. It was quiet and full of pain.

“Come on Roxas, it’s time to go, we’ll finish this later.”
“okay.” Roxas got up and found his shoes pulling them on, he accepted the coat Riku gave him and followed the others out of the building.

Should I tell him?</b> Roxas heard Riku's voice. He still doesn’t understand what it he’s drawn into, and Zexion what will Leon do to him now that they are connected. An eng’hina and a Morvesu?

Roxas stopped and stared. What is that? he noticed in front of him that Zexion stopped too. Zexion turned and looked at him before joining his side.
“Did you just here that?” he whispered slightly panicky.
“You heard it too?” Roxas whispered back.

“Come on keep up!” someone called in front of them. Useless Morvesu brat
“’Morvesu brat’?”
“He means me…” Zexion slunk off head bowed as he walked.
“What do you mean? Wait...”

Realization sunk into Roxas.
“Yea… I’m Axel’s brother”
